ABOUT
Welcome to the New England Society for Microscopy (NESM) — an affiliated society of the Microscopy Society of America and the Microanalysis Society. Founded as the New England Society for Electron Microscopy in 1967, the society has evolved over four decades to become a group dedicated to microscopy education in all it’s forms. Our mission is to organize microscopy-related activities and events, and to increase and disseminate microscopy knowledge and skills to anyone interested in the New England region. NESM organizes four technical meetings each year in an effort to achieve our mission. Our meetings routinely feature tours of new or renovated microscopy facilities, workshops spanning the biological and materials sciences, and keynote lectures highlighting the innovative research in light and electron microscopy in New England.

NESM is led by a board of twelve volunteers filling the positions of President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Clerk, Corresponding Secretary, three Biological Sciences Directors, three Physical Sciences Directors and one Webmaster. We are all dedicated microscopists spanning the fields of biological and physical sciences.

Thanks for stopping by and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings!
